Norton Installation on a USB
Norton is a brand name in the world of antivirus. One can easily identify it without giving a second thought. How to install it on a USB drive:
a. First of all download the Norton Security Scan on your computer system from the site. b. Follow the instructions after double clicking the downloaded file. Make a note of directory where Norton Security Scan is installed after accepting all the defaults. c. Now, insert your USB drive into your Computer portable device port. d. Go to the directory after opening the Windows Explorer where you have installed Norton Security Scan. 'C:\Program Files\Symantec\' is the path by default. e. Select Copy after right clicking the Norton Security Scan. f. In the Windows Explorer access your USB drive and then inside the window right click through the mouse. Select Paste for copying the Security Scan directory on your USB drive. g. Double click the 'nss.exe' file for launching Norton Security Scan on the system after connecting USB drive on your computer system.
Note: Use either empty or formatted USB drive to avoid any problem on the drive while running the scan. It also protects any important file from being affected in case if your system has virus.
If the antivirus detects any virus in the system, you might need another antivirus to remove or delete it. Norton Security Scan may not be able to remove all the virus related issues as it is a portable application.
The Security Scan only finds out when run manually rather than offering live protection.
